The annual Sierra Symposium sponsored by the Northeast Florida Sierra Club is titled: The Power of One: What One Person Can Do to Impact Climate Change. Retired UNF professor Allen Tilley, Ph.D., will teach us about the “Planetary Health Diet.” A plant- based diet, with modest amounts of meat and dairy, is the number one change an individual can make to impact climate change. Other talks will be on reducing food waste, native plants and the Renew Jax initiative. There will be opportunities to visit exhibits for more information on the topics discussed. Native plants will be available for purchase. A guided hike around the grounds at Tree Hill will start after the talk.
