Children Explore Nature Through Summer Garden Learning
The NIDO Summer Camp at Eat Your Yard Jax will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays from June 22 to July 17 at Eat Your Yard Jax, in Jacksonville. The Waldorf-inspired program offers children ages 5 to 12 an immersive outdoor learning experience focused on gardening, creativity and environmental connection through hands-on activities in a farm setting.
Eat Your Yard Jax operates as a nonprofit edible and medicinal plant nursery and education center that promotes sustainable growing practices, outdoor education and community engagement. Through workshops, educational programming and nature-based experiences, the organization encourages families and children to build a deeper understanding of gardening, food cultivation and environmental stewardship.
The summer camp combines outdoor exploration with crafts, garden learning and interactions with farm animals in an environment designed to encourage curiosity and sensory learning. Children participate in hands-on experiences in a garden centered educational environment that supports creativity, practical skills and connection to nature while spending time outdoors on the farm.
