Natural Awakenings Jacksonville-St. Augustine AND Greater Daytona Beach

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Nonprofit Baptist Health operates six hospitals, including Wolfson Children’s Hospital, and the largest network of primary and specialty care offices in Northeast Florida. They will present Raising the Bar for Breast Health from 9 a.m. to noon, October 18, 2023, at the Healthy Living Center Baptist North. Wear pink to be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card. Participants can explore a variety of vendors, enjoy free massages and sip on a pink mocktail.

One of the primary reasons for raising breast cancer awareness is that it is the second-leading cause of death among women worldwide. While it affects one out of eight women, it only affects one out of 1,000 men. For almost 40 years, the country has recognized October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is a time annually devoted to educating everyone about breast cancer, including metastatic breast cancer and the importance of early detection and access to timely, high-quality care.

Admission is free. Location: 11236 Baptist Health Dr., Jacksonville. For more information, call 904-202-6940 or visit BaptistJax.com.
